OpenAI Fixes 8 Codex Quota-Draining Bugs, Resets Credits for Paid Users

OpenAI has patched eight categories of issues in Codex that were silently draining usage quotas, and reset credits for all paying Codex and ChatGPT Work users. According to Tibo, the same allocation now stretches 10%-50% longer depending on how the product is used. The biggest token waster was /goal: some tasks that were already finished never stopped running, consuming as much as 15%-70% of a weekly quota in a single session. Computer History also burned roughly 20% of weekly credits in certain cases by repeatedly summarizing past operations. Additional overhead was found in image compression, background memory, automated tasks, sub-agents and MCP. The good news may not end there. Tibo had teased that Codex was approaching a new user milestone, hinting at a celebration. After today's bug-fix reset, he said the button had already been pressed that day, so the celebration would move to tomorrow. Codex has marked milestones such as 15M and 20M users with credit resets before, making another reset tomorrow a strong possibility.

Ledger CTO says rumored Ethereum app bug was fixed two weeks ago

Ledger Chief Technology Officer Charles Guillemet said recent claims about a vulnerability in the company’s Ethereum app relate to a real bug that had already been fixed and deployed two weeks ago. In a post on X, he said the issue involved a specific clear-signing flow and was discovered internally by Donjon, Ledger’s security team, using an AI-based vulnerability research tool. Guillemet added that users are protected as long as they keep their Ledger app updated. He also said the smart contract security firm tied to the claims contacted Ledger’s bug bounty program only after the fix had gone live and did not follow responsible disclosure practices. According to Guillemet, that firm later published posts implying the issue remained unresolved. He criticized the move as an attempt to stir fear and draw attention rather than conduct legitimate security research.

Maya Protocol says attack stole about $1.7 million, operations paused

Maya Protocol founder AaluxxMyth said the protocol was hit by an attack that led to the theft of about 20 BTC, worth roughly $1.4 million, along with other assets worth about $300,000. The team has paused global operations to contain losses and is working on a fix before trading resumes. According to the disclosure, most of the losses were tied to arbitrage and pool fees triggered by extreme slippage. The team is in contact with relevant parties and said it plans to make up the shortfall through methods including Aztec Chain investments. AaluxxMyth also said that if the 20 BTC is returned to the pool, the CACAO token price would recover to $0.115. The team said it wants the attacker to accept a bug bounty and return the funds.
